Kitsap County is one of the most beautiful places in the world. January marks a special time in the area where the skies turn gray (and arguably MORE beautiful) and it starts to feel more special to enjoy a coffee or a drink from inside the warm glow of a venue! Here are some upcoming shows that will make you feel warm, cozy, and completely delighted!

Carrying forth her Celtic American roots, Kyle Carey is a profound talent. Combining storytelling, lyrical expression and lush arrangements, Carey’s delicate voice elevates whatever room she’s in, turning it into a deep, warm retreat from the rest of the world. She plays nourishing music, songs that restore your sense of balance and beauty so you can face the world anew.

On January 19, Kyle Carey will be playing in nearby Olalla Washington as part of the Olalla Community Club’s Olalla House Concerts series! It’s sure to be an absolutely special experience.

Between Glee, America’s Got Talent and the Pitch Perfect movies, America has been seeing a new renaissance in acapella music! Exploring the full range and capabilities of the human voice, acapella ditches instruments in favor of talented singers creating, and recreating, arrangements of popular songs.

In the new landscape of acapella, Voiceplay are among the best. Their Youtube videos have garnered millions of views and they’ve played sold-out shows for adoring crowds all around the world! Even better, their stage show has reached the next level, combining choreography and storytelling to create a dizzying and hilarious concert experience that you’re unlikely to ever forget.

Voiceplay will be performing at the Admiral Theatre in Bremerton on January 19! Don’t miss out!

Of course, if you want to feel cozy then there’s no better place in Kitsap than the Best Western Plus Silverdale Beach Hotel. Featuring plenty of large windows to watch the wind blow across the waves, our hotel is one of the comfiest places to be in the the Kitsap Peninsula! Book your room today.

Jump into the water of the Pacific Ocean at Lytle Beach on Bainbridge Island this New Year’s Day and get the year started right – by crossing a goal of your checklist FIRST THING!

Mochi, the Japanese sweet treat, is traditionally eaten around the new year! Watch experienced hands pounding the mochi rice rhythmically to attain the delicious texture of this beloved candy! Takes place January 5 at Woodward Middle School on Bainbridge Island – and don’t miss a performance by Seattle Kokon Taiko at noon! This event is totally free and well worth your time.

On January 11 they will be coming to Bremerton’s Admiral Theater to perform the entirety of Radiohead’s classic concept album, OK Computer, on string instruments! It’s going to be fun, weird, and totally beautiful.

The Pacific Northwest isn’t known for having white Christmases – we just don’t get that much snow. But on the bright side, we don’t get that much snow! That means if you love Christmas spirit but don’t like feeling nervous on the road or shovelling the driveway, the Kitsap Peninsula is the place to be!

Kitsap’s Bainbridge Island is a beautiful retreat from the everyday, and many talented artists and craftspeople call it home! From November 29 to December 30, they will be opening their doors and inviting you in! Christmas in The Country is a self-guided tour of these artists’ homes, studios and art spaces that lets you find truly one-of-a-kind gifts for everyone on your shopping lists, all while supporting independent artists! The tour is absolutely free – you only spend money if you find something worth buying! SPOILER: you will find something worth buying.

Christmas and heavy metal – two great tastes that taste great together! Believe it or not, it’s a proven formula; years ago, a group of musicians got together and started playing classic Christmas carols with a wailing guitars and epic drama. They called themselves the Trans-Siberian Ochestra, and they were a surprise hit all over the world! In fact, they were successful enough that several of the founding members went on to form The Wizards of Winter, another touring group that brings incredible excitement back to the music of Christmas. They’ll be playing at the Admiral Theater in Bremerton on December 8 – put on your leather jacket AND your jingle bells!

The holidays are a wonderful time, but they can also be quite stressful. If you need a break from the stresses of December, then book a room at the Best Western Plus Silverdale Beach Hotel. Perched on the water’s edge, you can watch winter winds blow across the water our Beachfront Martini Lounge or from the complimentary hot tub!

Bremerton Washington’s Admiral Theater is a Kitsap institution, an intimate venue that brings world-class performers to our community. Over the years, it has housed some of the greats; if the walls of this historic building could talk, they would have incredible stories to tell… and if you buy tickets to any of these upcoming shows, so will you!

A super group of the world’s best fiddlers, Childsplay consists of 14 fiddlers, one powerful vocalist and 9 multi-instrumentalists and dancers who put on an astounding stage show that will have you dancing in your seats! Recalling the infectious Celtic sounds of Riverdance, this is an explosively entertaining concert that you will definitely want to see! Childsplay takes to the stage in Bremerton on November 16!

Every year, the Seattle International Comedy Competition pits dozens of North America’s most promising comedians against each other in a month-long battle to see who is the funniest of them all, and every year those dozens are pared down to the “Funniest Five,” who go head-to-head for the crown! That final competition takes place at the Admiral Theater on November 24! Will you know these comedians? Almost certainly not. Will they make you lose your mind with laughter? DEFINITELY YES. Don’t miss it.

You know Jane Lynch from her scene-stealing roles in The 40-Year Old Virgin, Glee, and Best in Show; she is one funny lady, but did you know she can really sing? On November 26, she will perform her tour, A Swingin’ Little Christmas, at the Admiral Theater! A variety show like from the good old days, this concert will combine holiday music with jokes and holiday cheer, and is sure to be the perfect way to get into the holiday mood for December!

Want to check out the Admiral Theater? Then book a room at the Best Western Silverdale Beach Hotel in nearby Silverdale; we offer a more scenic stay than you’ll find in Bremerton a short drive away from the theater! Catch a show at The Admiral, and finish your evening with a cocktail at our Beach Front Martini Lounge!

The best place to stay in Kitsap County!

The Kitsap Peninsula in Washington is timelessly beautiful, as well as a place out of time. Although we have all the conveniences of modern life, this is also the kind of place where you can connect with something everlasting, from the profound beauty of the forests and the ocean to the tight-knit communities that dot the coast of Puget Sound, Kitsap County is a place you can take your kids to show them a glimpse of what life was like before smart phones, Netflix and video games! Here are some upcoming blasts from the past that you and your kids will love.

Based on J.M. Barrie’s classic novel, this stage adaptation of Peter Pan needs little introduction. Introduce your family to the wonders of Neverland and a very special boy who can fly through the air with only a happy thought! Sneak peaks suggest that this is going to be a doozy of a show that captures the magic that makes this such a classic tale! This spectacular production will run from November 1-18 in the North Kitsap Auditorium in Poulsbo and should not be missed!

The laser show was one of the most iconic experiences of the 1970s. Combining the best of psychedelic rock with live animation as lasers trace their way across a screen, creating dynamic and powerful visuals that perfectly matched the music, this was one of the best ways to sit back and enjoy the music of the day. Now, 40 years later, it’s a fantastic way to recapture the spirit of that time. You can catch the Pink Floyd Laser Spectacular at the Admiral Theatre in Bremerton on November 2!

If you’re visiting Kitsap with your family you can have a timeless trip by staying at the Best Western Plus Silverdale Beach Hotel. Just steps from the beach, there’s so much to do and explore in the hotel’s back yard! Book a room for you and your family today.

Haunted houses are an all-American tradition! There’s something about the mix of falling leaves, cool air and the approach of Halloween that makes folks creative, crafting experiences that range from Scooby-Doo spooky to absolutely terrifying; we here in Kitsap love them every year.

We’ve already told you about the Kitsap Haunted Fairground, but there are plenty of other family friendly, spookerific activities on the Kitsap Peninsula this October!

Located in Port Orchard, the Therrien Manor Yard Haunt is a fun display of exactly how incredible local ingenuity can be! Inspired by Disney’s Haunted Mansion tour, the Therriens have crafted a family-friendly tour through the exterior of their home with all the spills and chills of the Anaheim original in the Pacific Northwest!

Pheasant Fields is an operating farm that offers educational tours about how people live and work on the farm! During October, they decorate with classic Halloween ornaments, lining their footpaths with creative Jack O’Lanterns and more – but the real draw is Kitsap county’s first living corn maze! It’s a fun, educational daytrip for the whole family.

Featuring one of the biggest corn mazes in the Pacific Northwest, hay bale rides, a huge pumpkin patch and more, Minder Farms Halloween events are a definite must-visit for any family visiting the Kitsap Peninsula. Located in Bremerton, this is a short trip from Silverdale that is well worth taking!

The pumpkin is the unofficial emblem of October and Halloween, and Creekhouse Farms produces the finest in the area! Specializing in heirloom varieties of squash and pumpkins, they are even able to grow personalized pumpkins with special messages emerging in the flesh of the fruit itself!

The season for personalizing pumpkins is over, but you can still visit Creekhouse for a haunted walk through some of the most abundant pumpkin fields in the state!

Of course, when you spend a day in the crisp air of fall, it’s always nice to return some where warm and cozy. The Best Western Plus Silverdale Beach Hotel has a welcoming fireplace in its lounge, and comfortable beds that are extra cozy in the fall! Book your room today!

October is coming, and that means scores of fun, family-friendly events here in Kitsap! If you’re looking for something to do that’s safe and wholesome that your whole family will love, then you owe it to yourself to come to the Pacific Northwest!

Bainbridge Island, a short drive from Silverdale, hosts a conservationist’s dream. The Bloedel Reserve is a 150 acre plot of land dedicated to conserving the ecosystems and natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Created by Prentice Bloedel and his wife Virginia, the couple strived to aim for the elegant simplicity of the Japanese garden, espousing that zen philosophy of harmony with nature in a purely Northwest style. It’s a wonder to behold at any time of year, but the changing of the leaves in autumn makes it an especially beautiful sight.

If you’re looking for a fun thing to do with the kids, then be sure to visit anytime in October after the 2nd for Bloedel Squash Scavenger Hunt! Kids are given a list of squash to look for throughout the reserve, turning a lesson about plant ecology into a fun game! It’s amazing how much kids love this learning opportunity, and it’s an absolutely gorgeous setting for it. Don’t miss out!

Of course, the real family fun of October is completely spookified! If your kids are up for a bit of a scare (nothing truly frightening, we promise), then take them to the Kitsap Fairgrounds in Bremerton all October for a spooky good time! Experience haunted houses, a twisted fairy tale, paintball zombie hunting and more! We look forward to it every year, and one trip will show you why.

Looking for family accommodations on the Kitsap Peninsula? The Best Western Plus Silverdale Beach Hotel is a great destination for families! Featuring an indoor heated pool and close access to the beach for tidal exploration, kids love it here and so will you!

The best place to stay in Kitsap!

It’s never a bad time of the year to visit the Kitsap Peninsula, but here are some events we’re looking forward to this September that might make you want to book that trip you’ve been meaning to take!

Located a gorgeous drive away from Silverdale, the Suquamish Clearwater Casino features all kinds of great concerts at a great price!

On September 5, you can see Joel McHale perform the signature brand of sarcastic commentary on pop culture he honed over years of performing on The Soup and The Joel McHale Show! Maybe best known for his starring role in the cult favorite comedy series Community, Joel McHale offers biting, no nonsense breakdowns of what’s happening in the big world of celebrities! He is completely hilarious and not to be missed.

Dwight Yoakam plays September 6. If you’re a big fan of country, then Dwight Yoakam needs no introduction, but if you’re a more casual fan than suffice to say that none other than Johnny Cash called Yoakam his favorite country singer! Known for hit songs like “Suspicious Minds,” “Streets of Bakersfield” and “Honky Tonk Man,” this is going to be a great concert.

Miss the 80s? Then you NEED to go see these legends of the 80s on September 15th: Grandmaster Flash, Tone Loc and Color Me Badd. Grandmaster Flash is one of the original architects of hip hop, a DJ who helped define the sound of the next three decades, while Tone Loc’s deep voice and hit songs like “Funky Cole Medina” won over a new generation a decade later. Thow in Color Me Badd, the original R&B boy group, and you have an incredible night of nostalgia!

If you ask us, that’s something for everybody! And another treat everyone will love is a stay at the Best Western Plus Silverdale Beach Hotel. Located on a picturesque beach on the sheltered waters of Dyes Inlet, we’re your portal to the beauty of the Kitsap Peninsula.
