Our new menu also incorporates some international fare into its local foundations.  Try the sopas, bacon wrapped dates or the chips and roasted chipotle salsa!  There is also a great selection of personal pizzas to choose from.  After dinner, choose from a creative dessert menu that includes New York Style Cheesecake, a blueberry Gran Marnier Crisp or the impressive Nutella Stuffed French Toast!

The Martini Lounge lives up to its name by offering a great selection of drinks all at reasonable prices.  Happy Hours happen from 3-5pm and 10pm-close from Monday-Saturday and all day on Sunday.  The lounge’s sophisticated selection of martinis includes their signature Beachfront Martini, a Sweet tart Martini and for those hot days, a Beachfront Margarita.

Bainbridge Island is a scenic island city located only a few miles from Silverdale, which is a great place to spend the day exploring or a launching off point for a relaxing and beautiful ferry ride to Seattle.

This island is full of historical attractions including a memorial to Bainbridge Island’s Japanese Americans who were interned during WWII in the interior of the country.  At Pritchard Park, you can view this memorial and read a bit about the history of this sad chapter in our nation’s history.  After you check out the memorial head over to the Bainbridge Island Historical Museum where you can gain a fuller picture of the Island’s history from the time it was a wholly Indigenous place through to today.

If the weather holds out this fall you might also want to spend some time relaxing at the beach.  Bainbridge is home to many great beaches including Lytle Beach and Rockaway Beach.  Lytle Beach is great for the whole family featuring barbecues, swimming options, great beach combing spaces and a fire pit.  There are also great views of Mt. Rainier and the occasional sea lion to be spotted!

Lytle Beach

One of the great attractions of Bainbridge is the ferry one can catch from the island to the heart of downtown Seattle.  This majestic ride, which lasts only 35 minutes, is a very popular journey for tourists to the region since it provides spectacular views and is entirely free for walk aboard passengers who depart from Bainbridge (note there is a small fee associated with returning from Seattle).  For more information about this scenic journey, click here.

Bainbridge Island Ferry

Our little corner of the world is just about as scenic as they come, comprised of hundreds of quaint forested islands and inland sea waterways.  If you’re staying with us this fall get out on a bike or hop in the car and explore all our region has to offer.  After day tripping, head back to your relaxing accommodations at the BEST WESTERN PLUS Silverdale Beach Resort.  Let us take care of everything this fall and book your stay today!

The Olympic Mountain Range is situated in a remote corner of northwest Washington and is home to one of the wildest and most scenic national parks in all of the country.  The Olympic National Park is remarkable for its wide variety of ecosystems and climates.  The western edge of the park is home to lush temperate ancient rainforests, the central interior home to rugged snow capped mountain peaks and the eastern slopes home to dry forests and grasslands.  If you’re visiting Silverdale for a few days, planning a visit to Olympic National Park is a rewarding and unforgettable activity.  Click here for driving directions from the National Park Service.

There are plenty of walks and day hikes in Olympic National Park.  Remember, even on short hikes you should be ready for quick weather changes as this is a high mountain park.  A great very short hiking option for those with additional accessibility needs is The Living Forest Trail.  This 0.4 mile wide and gentle trail can be accessed by wheelchair and leads to a nice lookout over Peabody Creek Valley.  Click here for more information about this trail.

For avid hikers, there are plenty of day or even overnight hikes in the park.  For a complete listing of the park’s trails, click here.

Another relaxing and pleasant activity is to go tide pool watching at one of the park’s beaches, which are known for their stunning variety of tidal life.  The most commonly accessed tide pools are Kalaloch’s Beach 4 and Mora’s Hole in the Wall.  For directions and further information about these tide pool viewing opportunities, click here.

Kitsap County embodies the stunning beauty of the Pacific Northwest with its majestic forests and rugged inlets teeming with wildlife.  If you’re staying with us this summer, be sure to get outside and check out some of the area’s amazing scenery and wildlife.

Bird Watching

Kitsap County is home to a wide variety of birds year round with large spring and fall migrations, winter shorebirds, eagles and osprey abounding.  Waterfronts are home to teeming populations of ducks, loons and herons.  Some of the best places in the area to view the avian wildlife are the Clear Creek Trails, the Hansville Greenway and the Theler Wetlands.  Check out the Kitsap Audubon Society’s website for more information about birding in the area.

Nature Walks

There are plenty of nature walks through spectacular Pacific Northwest scenery in Kitsap County.  One of the most accessible and well maintained is the Clear Creek Trail which meanders through wetlands, woodlands and tidelands right in the heart of Silverdale.  A great feature of this trail is an interpretive centre that explains much of the local flora and fauna in an accessible fashion.  For more information about nature walks in the area, visit the Kitsap Peninsula Tourism Office.

Whale Watching

The waters around Kitsap County are home to two types of whales.  The most common are orcas, which frequently journey up inlets in their pursuit of salmon.  In the spring, Gray Whales become equally frequent for a brief window as they pass through Washington on their journey from Mexico to Alaska.  If you’re out and about on the waters of Puget Sound, be sure to keep your eyes peeled for these majestic creatures that might appear at any moment!  However, if you simply can’t wait for a chance sighting to occur, check out The Puget Sound Express, a whale watching tour company offering guaranteed sightings on every excursion.

Here at the BEST WESTERN PLUS Silverdale Beach Hotel, we know how to put our guests at ease.  We offer a spacious patio courtyard where you can enjoy a sunny day or warm up by the fire after a long day of outdoor excursions.  When it comes to accommodation in Silverdale, we are the simple and hassle free choice.  Book your room today!
